About the Hotel
The Mistley Thorn is a historic coaching inn built in 1723, situated in the coastal village of Mistley. It features award-winning cuisine from American-born executive chef Sherri Singleton, focusing on seasonal local produce. Reviews and Ratings
Our stay at the hotel was wonderful! The rooms had a very comfy bed, and the lovely hot shower was perfect after braving the foul weather during our weekend. The view of the estuary added a special touch. The location was fantastic, situated in a pleasant restaurant and beautiful area, close to the train station on the characterful Mistley waterfront. The dining experience, especially with the best fried mushrooms I have ever eaten, was a highlight. Overall, a great stay with a few minor drawbacks.
The hotel is perfectly located near the station and the picturesque Stour river. The rooms offer a lovely clean bathroom with a delightful hot shower, though the creaky floors can be a bit noisy. The service, especially by the manager, was outstanding, and pet amenities are a thoughtful touch. The restaurant on the characterful Mistley waterfront is popular, offering delicious homemade cakes. Overall, a great value for a cozy stay.
The hotel offers rooms with lovely views over the estuary and a very comfy bed, perfect for recovering from the foul weather during our weekend stay. The hot shower with REN products was a delightful touch. However, the price could be considered a bit high for the overall experience.
